Palin deserves an apology
#1
Who should I believe? The "Sheriff" of Pima county who could sub for Keith Olbermann or Loughner's friend and classmate. I suspect we won't be seeing this quote in very many places.

"He did not watch TV. He disliked the news. He didn’t listen to political radio. He didn’t take sides. He wasn’t on the left. He wasn’t on the right."

How many wish they could take back their posts here. You can't.

Who are you talking to? I didn't claim the shooting was politically motivated, and a lot of others who post here didn't either.

You can't have it both ways.

You post a quote saying that the killer wasn't left and he wasn't right, but just before that you equate the killer with Olberman and expect an apology from those that want to indirectly link the killer's actions with political rhetoric.

How is that not hypocritical?

Furthermore, how is it such a stretch to believe that a constant drumbeat of violent metaphors might lead some already mentally unstable individuals to the wrong conclusion that violence is an acceptable course of action? To be clear, the people beating the drums are not directly responsible for the actions of the deranged, but they are certainly providing a beat for the lunatics to dance to. And drums are being beaten on both sides of the aisle.

I'm not certain that I believe the statements coming from the parents. They weren't in tune with how crazy he was, which should be more obvious than what stations he may have watched or listened to. I'd be more interested in what his browser history tells us.

He took some sorta side when he put a gun in his hand targeted certain individuals. He took a side with
his internet postings.

So he sat in his room and did nothing all day but stare at the walls. Geez Dak are you really that naive?

Oh sure all my maps look like this, do yours.

Sarah Palin is a very negative person who is out for one person: Sarah Palin. She has stepped in it before and she will step in it again. But she is getting rich which is all she cares about.

Palin is crying all the way to the bank.

Some desperately want to believe Palin's map set the guy off no matter what the evidence. By a 2 to 1 margin people don't believe that. So once again the intellectual class misread the people.

It figures that an idiot would rant about someone with intellect...
