Health Care Debate..... Obama reaches across the aisle
#1
Wash Post discusses "Open for Discussion"

"As House Republicans prepare this week to hold a vote to repeal the health-care law that President Obama signed last year, the administration says it opposes that idea but is "open" to Republican suggestions to improve the provision"

- - -

Hmm.. While I applaud bi-partisanship, I don't see where this can be a good strategy for the President, since this bill has zero chance of ever seeing his desk. He's wasting vital political capital consorting with 'the enemy'.

I also tend to doubt the article. When a reporter says "the administration says", it might mean "I made this up". Not to mention... dude, this is the Washington Post.

I liked his comments. I don't think anyone thought it was perfect. There's still room for improvement. Give the republicans their "veto" moment (which we all know is for display), then get down to work in a bipartisan manner to improve the bill.

So the Republicans want to veto a health care law that was previously championed by Republicans? It just shows how far right the GOP has moved in the past 2 decades.

Perhaps by "improve" he means "single payer."

Jeebus! He reached across the aisle last time and had his hands cut off. I think he should take the stance of "Take no prisoners!".

We the people elected him, gave him a large majority in the House and a supermajority in the Senate, and he frittered it away. Hello, Hillary? Please pick up the red, white and blue courtesy phone.
