Tough blender for ice smoothies
#1
my brother gave me a hamilton beach blender that i have been using daily to make smoothies from fruit, crushed ice and yogurt. today, it just started smoking and then died. and not under warranty.

so i need to get a good blender that can withstand crushed ice, etc and last. don't want to spend a ton, but do want quality. any recommendations?

I have been using one similar to this since May 2007.

Blendtec and VitaMix are usually considered best, and are the favorites of most smoothie-lovers, but are not cheap.

I think $450 + for a blender connotes a visit to the proctologist to have your head examined more than toughness TongueBig Grin :priate:
