Mitt Romney: Back to the Future
#1
"Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney promised in his first major foreign policy speech to reverse "massive defense cuts" that actually have not happened. And he pledged to deploy missiles and ships that already are largely in place."

He was entertaining as a governor, too.

Things that haven't happened are the easiest to revers.

You should have seen the clips that Jon Stewart played the other night showing how Mitt had flip flopped on major issues from when he was governor to now. Play to the base to get elected, it doesn't matter what you really believe. Works the same on both sides of the aisle. Makes me sick.

Mitt recently criticized Obama for doubling the debt. This is something that Reagan did twice, and Bush did two years into his first term so we could invade Iraq. Obama would not have had to do it if Bush had raised taxes to pay for Iraq. Instead Bush cut taxes and paid for the war by selling the US debt to China. The only previous time this had been done was when France helped fund the Revolutionary War.

Bush cut the 55% tariff and gave China most favored nation status and military secrets to empower their growth, too. What an asshole. He should have been hung for treason.

Kind of a non sequitur, but whatever.

I hope someone asks Romney probing questions about his stand against the Strategic Arms Limitation Treaty (START) with the Russians last year. At the time the Tea Partiers were against it for who knows what stupid reasons and so, like he has done on so many things, Romney pandered to them and said he was against signing the treaty.

Five living Republican former Secretary of State (Kissinger, Shultz, Baker, Eagleburger and Powell) signed off on an opinion piece published in the Washington Post titled "The Republican Case for the New Start Treaty". When it was voted on in the Senate it passed 71 to 24. Romney choosing to pander to the Tea Partiers rather than calling for what was obviously the best thing for the U.S. (pass the treaty) was a gutless, stupid thing to do.
