Funny...I always thought the founders went out of their way to separate church and state. That not doing so would create a preferred or "National" religion.

But these nutjobs believe that is you were born and raised in a different, non-preferred region that you don't have the same rights guaranteed in the constitution to all people.

This scares the hell out of me.

Not because I'm Morman or Muslim. Because I had the impression that the Constitution gives everyone in this country the same rights.

And that there wasn't room for any other interpretation to those words.

These organizations named "American Family Association" are seeking candidates who will support their views.

God help us all if they actually elect a president that does.

The fringe right has poisoned the GOP and it has boiled down to the nutcases and the extremists propping up who will run for the GOP. I personally know several lifelong conservatives who, although they will never vote for a Democrat, have said that they are having real trouble supporting the people who are running the show. My accountant said that he has never voted Democrat yet he abstained voting in the last 2 presidential elections as he could not stand Bush and the like.

I am very much enjoying every minute of these fringe bozos taking down the ship and ruining chances for future positions.

The other irony is that these fundamentalist Christians wouldn't recognize irony if it was an immediate family member. Which it very much is.
