Can't say as I'm a fan, but I know there are a fair number of people who will start salivating at the mere mention of a McRib ...

"McDonald's Corp. plans to announce Monday that the boneless barbecue pork sandwich that is not always available in stores will be sold at all U.S. locations through Nov. 14."

Wondering.... is the McRib "meat" simply a breakfast McSausage patty slathered in BBQ sauce?

It's not as good as you remember. Tried one again a couple years back, and it was blech...

If you want a similar (but healthier, not to mention more animal friendly) alternative, I'd suggest these. I've had them both in a sandwich or just on a plate. It actually tastes better than there McRib, too. Found in many grocery stores.

I tried one out of curiosity and I was not impressed. It didn't taste awful or anything, but I don't understand why people are so crazy about them.

BBQ ribs (in general), are something that you probably shouldn't think about too much if you want to enjoy them. IMO, Famous Dave's ribs are at the other end of the spectrum from McRibs. They are my favorite twice a year pig-out food.
