best place to buy spare parts for iPod Touch?
#1
I have an iPod Touch with unresponsive screen, 2G, 16 GB. Mint condition. Apple wants $149 to replace it, I wonder it it makes sense to buy a touch screen and try to repair it myself? yes, I know it's hard to open, I already messed up the plastic frame Sad

Should just send it in to Apple for a $79 battery replacement. You'll just get a new-to-you refurb.

I have a dead iPod Touch with a slightly cracked screen. Will that qualify and how?

You would be better off selling it as-is on ebay and buying a refurb for all that trouble wouldn't you?

The link

Your iPod is not eligible for the Out-of-warranty Battery Replacement Program if a hardware failure is affecting a component of the iPod other than the battery, or if there is damage on the iPod resulting from accident, liquid damage, disassembly, unauthorized service and unauthorized modifications.

Dang! My son's Touch worked great for a year with a cracked screen, then one day, just up and died. Oh well!
