why some many PC laptops have 15.6" LED-Backlit (1366x768) Display

isn't this a little low resolution for a 15.6" display? at least 900 vertical would be nice.

It is cheap. It allows them to use panels mass produced for TV's. Why is the MBA only 1366 x 768?

But the MBA is that resolution at an 11" size display compared to the 15.6" being mentioned. Even the 13" MBA comes with a 1440x900 display now.
