Weird PDF printing problem...
#1
Hi everyone,

I've got a PDF file I made myself by scanning a document, which when I try to print it to one particular printer (a Xerox), it prints out inverted (white on black), whereas when I print on another printer, it prints fine. (Problem is that I really need to be able to print it to the Xerox... and it doesn't show up well when photocopied.)

Is this a problem with the PDF, with the printer driver, both? And how do I fix it? I've tried playing around with the settings in the Xerox driver, but nothing's worked so far.

do other PDFs print fine on that XEROX printer?

space-time, yes. Just this one, but I've also noticed that in certain apps when printing something containing a certain graphic, the graphic will come out inverted-- versus when printing on other printers, it doesn't. So it does seem like maybe something specific to the Xerox printer and/or driver.

If it was me, I'd try opening the PDF in GraphicConverter, and converting it to a Tiff, or some other format...then try to print the Tiff.

Interesting ... I just did the conversion from Preview, and sure enough, printing it as TIFF format fixed it... wonder what was going on there... thanks Paul!

I think printing tiff after the PDF files been converted is too complicated. Why not print PDF files directly with the help of a PDF printing SDK? I am not so sure about it. But I hope you success. Good luck.
