Yeah, it's that religious exemption. Which wouldn't be an issue if religious organizations only hired their own as opposed to workers who have nothing to do with their faith.

Ooops, many of their own don't follow the "rules"

I can't believe it, either. This is completely nuts. It's llike they see they are loosing control over keeping the gays down so they are reverting back to controlling women.

I wouldn't say it exactly this way myself, but this totally cracked me up:

Hey Catholic Church, this is how we got Protestants

And the other thing about this.

Why is it that Republicans only listen to Catholic Bishops on issues that also inflame their evangelical base??

Other things that the Catholic church wanted, but did not get from Republicans:
No war in Iraq
Progressive immigration reform
Respect for labor, enforcement of labor protection laws
etc.

EDIT: Forgot the big one - taking care of poor people!!

I'm sure there are others.

So Rick Santorum, if you are going to cry over this birth control issue like you did last night, where are the tears over that other stuff that is supposedly very important to your church?

Seems like another case of this administration making some grandiose decision that trys to put all people/institutions into a one size fits all situation then backing down when they get major push backs. Just get the government out of reproductive meddling period. I guarantee you that if it was men getting pregnant, or trying not to get pregnant, there would never be a problem. :burnout:
