Reaction to Whitney Houston's death: it got racist and ugly pretty quick
#1
After other news sites noticed hundreds of racist, very ugly comments on the Fox News thread about Whitney Houston, Fox had the decency to take down the entire comment thread. Maybe all sites should do this when a person has died: just report, no comments.
Maybe we're all just so accustomed to this now that nobody cares.

Comment threads are the bathroom walls of the world. Some people write words of wit on them.

Some merely throw balls of... well, you know.

Some people even get off on taking pics of those bathroom walls and smearing the rest of the world with them.

Yeah, bill, we should just pretend that the news network with the highest ratings isn't a favorite of racists. We should just let them delete it and pretend it never happened, because that will make racism disappear.

I refer back to my low IQ thread. After reading that study, I have a keener insight into just how greatly the right is controlled by people who fear the "other." Totally sad.

Fox News is cultivating that hate.

It would be interesting to see what the reaction would have been if they spotlighted her masterful (so I hear) rendition of the Star Spangled Banner in 2002 in the first paragraph.

The fox crowd certainly liked her THEN.

No, some people need to show the world that there are nearly half the people in the country who are ignorant and full of hate and need to be exposed before they do any more damage to the country.

This is a very very sad commentary on this country.
It is beyond Fox. It comes from generations of misguided examples.
I speak with people around the world daily. There is
great sadness for the loss of Whitney Houston.

"Speak no ill of the recently dead, as they cannot defend themselves."

You do not have to be a racist to malign the dead. Steve Jobs has
been taking hits almost daily.

I am challenged to understand the nature and the need for such hatefulness.

I am ashamed for my people and my tribe.

Sad
