No SIRI On iPad 3?
#1
Maybe I missed it, but I can't see where SIRI is included on the new 'Pad. Didn't this event start with Cook talking about SIRI becoming available in more countries with different languages? (I was half assed paying attention).

Seems to me it's a glaring omission not to include it in the latest and greatest iPad. Or am I just dense and didn't hear about it being onboard? :dunno:

He did start out w/ SIRI and I too thought it meant that it would be in the new ipad, but there was no mention of it afterward. I was listening for it.

It will have voice recognition, sort of Siri-lite.

Wow - that's a big omission.

I believe most of Siri's processing is done in the cloud, so until all iPads have both a cellular and wifi connection, Siri will probably not be visiting the iPad.

Yes, when you try to use Siri out of WiFi range with no cell data contract, you'll be met with silence.

Seems like that's a pretty silly reason not to include it, though.

I think most everyone would still like to have it, even if they will not be able to use it all the time.

Even iPhones sometimes go out of Cellular and Wifi range, and Siri goes silent for them, too.

Ugh, I really wanted to buy one but now with the just slightly faster chip and no Siri I'm second guessing. Dick move Apple! http://dkmvs.com/posts/645
