AP "Fact Check"
#1
You could not tell if you are reading a so called Fact Check by AP or a DNC ad. Instead of pointing out what facts they checked, they start out with "but Ryan himself....", just like school kids brawl.

"Ryan's claim ignores the fact that Ryan himself incorporated...."

"Ryan himself asked for stimulus funds shortly after Congress approved...."

"Ryan himself voted for an auto bailout under President George W. Bush...."

I just don't understand why all these Democrats are watching the Republican convention. Bored ? And then run around quoting from Republican speeches. It's like Atheists quoting the Bible. WTF ?

I have long understood that speeches at conventions are 'for the faithful', and always contain a nicely high fibrous content of BS. So as a result I ignore them.

You're not interested in the people who want to be VP/Pres? The junk Ryan spewed is the centerpiece of the Romney/Ryan campaign, and it's based on falsehood. It's not some random BS you won't here again, it's essentially the Republican platform this year.

It's obvious that millions of GOP'ers watched Obama's speech in '08 because they couldn't stop wetting themselves over the Grecian columns.

I grew up watching the conventions of both parties. Our whole family sat in the living room together, watching. For one thing, conventions used to be fun and exciting. Plus, with gavel to gavel coverage, you got to watch the platform being built and the delegates voting on things.

Nowadays both conventions are just a dog and pony show -- however, the dog and the pony are running for President and Vice President, so that makes it important.

I must confess to not watching this year. I can play the speeches I'm interested in on youtube more conveniently than anything available on broadcast TV.

Lemon Drop, I understand. But I don't go a listen avidly to the preaching at other churches, because I know that their sermons are specific to their people.

They are not watching because they like what they hear. They are watching so they can come here the next day and nitpick. 95% of what he said cannot be refuted(and hasn't been) and the other 5% can be debated.

I may not be affected by what your church does, but I'm sure as heck affected by what political leaders do, whether they are in my party or not.
So as an involved citizen who wants to be informed and decide for myself, as opposed to letting pundits tell me what to think, I'm paying attention.
I think it's odd that you insult us simply for paying attention.

95%, eh? pretty precise numbers.

i like refuting the 'czars' nonsense that right-wingers like to spout nonsense about, how Obama has more than Bush.
