My mom had this and said her's lasted a week. I'm still coughing most of the day and having fever from 100 to 102. I've been taking 20 mg c0deine at night and a little through the day, but it doesn't help a lot. No other medicine helps. I'm drinking water and taking vitamin C. Honey didn't begin to help. Tylenol knocks the fever back for awhile but it comes back.

I'm wondering if I should omit the Tylenol tonight so maybe the fever can do what it's supposed to do and clear out the virus.

Also, am I in danger of getting pneumonia? I'm only up about 4 hours a day.

I've lost 12 pounds, but I'm eating grapes, yogurt, granola, chicken - not too bad on the eating.

I'm too tired to type anymore. Can y'all answer the bolded questions? Thanks.

Get your ass to the hospital or the doctor in the morning. You are a few days past the wait and see what happens stage and well into the why haven't you gone to the doctor yet stage?

on Sept 4 (A TUESDAY) you said " I have an appointment with my doctor anyway on Monday."

well, why does it take so long to see your doc, and assuming you saw your doc on Monday, Sept 10, YESTERDAY, what did the doc say?

If symptoms last more than 3 days get your butt to the doctor.

And don't take Tylenol for more than 3 days in a row. It causes liver damage.

And don't take prescription drugs (codeine) without a doctor's orders. (Note that codeine can depress your immune response!)

Get to the doctor or ER. Call for help if there is no one to drive you. Post back so we know you are ok.

Get to the Urgent Care Center. I had similar symptoms in February, and my wife made me go there after a few days of my insisting I'd get better on my own. Turns out I had a serious case of bacterial pneumonia.

Don't delay, go today.

I think you're already there

and get out of bed, sleep in a reclining chair keeping your lungs as upright as possible
