RYF: Free Today Only, Aiseesoft Blu-Ray to MP4 Ripper
#1
I'm testing it out as I type this. Seems a bit slow even on a iMac Quad i5. It may have more to do with my
USB powered Blu-Ray than my iMac and the software.

Thanks. Windows version is "sold out" and my blu ray player is on my PC :/

Wonder if I can install it on my Mac.

Any idea if this is better than make mkv?

I downloaded both, I wonder if the Mac code also works for Windows...

According to the SD thread, it doesn't.

MakeMKV works great but it's $50 now and you still need to run the MKV through HandBrake to make it an MP4.

MakeMKV rips most blu-rays in under 30 minutes on my Mac Pro 1,1. I then convert using Handbrake, which can take up to two hours. Nice thing is that I can have a queue in Handbrake. You can add to the queue as Handbrake is converting. So, I rip a bunch of discs to a hard drive and then have a queue in Handbrake to convert overnight.

I discovered the HandBrake queue when doing the Gilligan series, it made it some what less painful.
Having the internal drive in the iMac, an external OWC DVD burner and the Pioneer external Blu-Ray
helps when ripping TV series.
