MacResource Forums Feature Request
#1
1. Twitter-like @ usage so that inserting @username in the subject or body of the thread sends a message (email/PM, whatever) to that user that (s)he was mentioned in a post.

2. When notified by email that someone has posted something new in a followed thread, include the username of that particular poster in the email, so that if that particular poster is on your Ignore list, you don't have to bother even clicking the link in the email.

3. Alternative to #2: Don't send email notifications if the poster is on your Ignore list.

Anybody have anything else to add?

Thanks.

I agree. I like to mentally sandbox my app usage. MacR stays in the browser - my email is enough of a mess as it is.

I'll diffidently express a deep seated hatred for hashtags and the like, but then again I read at a dizzy speed, and don't need that.

I don't like hashtags either, but I really think the @ usage would be helpful. Right now, if you mention somebody else in your post, you either have to PM them to let them know or just hope they happen to read your post/thread.

I think it would serve a real purpose. But, yes, hashtags be gone.

I'd like to be able to quickly see what thread I've posted in. This is what's at the top of the list of threads over at AS. The star means I've posted in a thread.

Just an educated guess here, but I think the best way to request features is to find an existing phorum mod/addon you want to use and suggest it.

And how does one go about doing that?

I thought most people routinely searched their name to gather that info.

Not sure if we're using 5.2 or not, but http://www.phorum.org/phorum5/list.php?62
