Polling averages from TPM show the President overtaking Romney in Virginia and Colorado (again) and neck-in-neck in Florida, and still holding very slim leads in Ohio and Michigan.

Weather obviously a big variable at this point as some mid-Atlantic states have cancelled early voting.

Christie from NJ just praised Obama (through gritted teeth, no doubt) about his handling and help regarding the storm, too. Hopefully, voters will take note and be reminded this is how responsible adults act when the best interest of everyone is a concern and not just your rich corporate friends.

I would personally have hoped that he would have STFU'ed and called on his volunteers to go out and help with recovery process. Calling the governors ? Why ? What the heck can he do ?

He wants to be President and Commander in Chief, it's a show of leadership for him to reach out to these leaders and ask what he and his considerable resources can do to help. That he reacted in a partisan way just reinforces what an opportunist he is.
