I purchased a refurb Dyson and have had nothing but good luck with it. As for the ball? Seems like it puts a lot of stress on your wrist.

FWIW, the DC33 (non Ball) is a Black Friday sale at Sam's club for $249. That's when I'm getting mine. I don't like the ergonomics of the Ball.. tried one. Too floppy.

I know some may say it's comparing apples to oranges, but for the money, we really really like our Shark Navigator Lift-Away. I bought it from Bed Bath and Beyond, using one of their 20% off coupons. Cleans great, easy to use, and it was quite a bit cheaper than a Dyson, especially after that coupon.
