New iPad 4! Replaces original iPad bought on day one.

It is a lot quicker, that is for sure.

With the Speck folio case, it is actually 1.5oz heavier than the original iPad with Apple case.

The retina display is nice.

I haven't tried out the camera or FaceTime yet, both new to this version.

I think the speed difference is almost more noticeable than the improvement of the Retina display.

Siri is new, but I had Google search on the other and never used it much. Will see if I ever use Siri, but I doubt it will be often.

Anything else that I should notice?

You may want to have a backup Lightning cable. The one that came with my iPad Mini was non-functional within about 2 weeks of very careful use (you can find more reports of this in the reviews on the online Apple store's product page for this item: numerous complaints about defective cables). The replacement has been fine so far. But I got a spare just in case.

Play around with the camera: I'm having a lot of fun with mine. I wish I'd had the Mini when I went out to visit my family in early November: I could have made some little movies.

Ha, ha.
I saw that "test" you performed earlier. I will be careful.

I will keep my eye on the cable. Luckily I have an Apple store about 15 minutes away, so if it craps out, I will be heading over and complaining.
