It took a Nixon initiative to undermine conservative opposition to dialog with China while today it takes an Obama initiative to undermine Social Security and overcome liberal opposition to benefit cuts.

Gives credence to those who suggest the difference between parties is nil.

I have no idea how one makes a mental leap from the fact that the President has made a huge effing and perhaps even unforgivable mistake to thinking that both parties are the same. That's not a bit logical and shows a fundamental misunderstanding of politics and political parties.

It took Clinton to get an effective welfare reform, something that right wing could only imagine in their wildest wet dreams....
