I would certainly not expect an intruder into my home to have a trigger lock securing his weapon. In fact, I would not expect that intruder to have a legally obtained firearm.

However, do not make the mistake of presuming that because I have my weapons secured from improper use they are not at the ready to defend my home and my family should that come to bear.

All 300 million firearms should be secured at all times from improper use. Any reasonable and proper gun owner understands this basic fact. No one wants their weapon used improperly to kill anyone else - especially family members or loved ones.

Further, I have no doubt that those in these referenced posts who have been party to these tragic killings will pay dearly in their own souls for what has occurred - which is the true punishment.

Of course, it seems that the anti-gun wackos on this forum would have the nation believe that the sheriff who left his personal weapon unsecured and unattended would rejoice at such a killing - not to mention the NRA and other American gun owners.
