Travel insurance...
#1
Anyone know of or use a decent travel insurance company to insure my wife for 6 months in the UK?
Would we by default, be better of going through our home/car insurance company (Farmer's) or another specialised insurance co.?
Edit- looks like Farmer's don't do travel insurance.

Thanks.

Medical. Myself and daughter are UK citizens, wife is an American. She needs medical insurance to meet the UKBA immigration 'concerns'.
She's basically healthy and 48 (ssh!).

Thanks

Do you have health insurance here? If so, check with them and see if she would be covered while there.

No rgG, we do not. We wing it here, but she needs to have travel health insurance to convince the UK imminazis that she is upstanding and kosher.

There was a travel insurance thread in the last few days below that might have some information.

This is the earlier thread. I don't know if there's anything helpful on it. It mentions an even earlier thread.

I used www.insuremytrip.com for our recent cruise. I was able to compare multiple plans from multiple companies.

Looks like UK is smarter than the USA. They require PROOF of health insurance before you come to their country so taxpayers won't be stuck with medical costs. Smart UK!
