is there a program that will download free movies you can watch on Amz ? Or YouTube stuff? I don't want to sit at a computer and watch movies.

A roku box will let you do this on your TV, and some smart TVs.
Right now, the lack of Amazon Instant viewing options is a conspicuous gap on the Apple TV device.

There are apps for both Amz and YouTube foe iPad. I use them all the time.

Just AirPlay your Mac to your AppleTV

Ken Sp. wrote: Yes, this sort of works - but only on the most recent Macs. What's truly annoying is that you cannot airplay from an iPad or iPhone.

I'm aware of apps for youtube but I'm not aware of ones that work with amazon prime video's. Can you elaborate on what you use?

I don't have appleTV or iPad.
I go to Amz and play movies and TV shows. AirPlay? don't know that Downloaded the manuals. Too many models. I don't know what I would need. I don't need stuff with kids, games, stuff like that. ALSO: if I want to make a copy of what I'm watching can I just record it like I do recording off Cable?

The short answer is you cant.
If you could just download all those free movies then what would be the point of keeping your subscription?

If you have a newer HDTV, Blu-Ray player with internet access, Amazon supports a lot of models. Also PS3 Wii and Xbox360. You can stream the movies through them to your TV.
