Hey Guys,
I need a basic printer for a home office. We also have a need for a fax on occasion so I'm wondering if an all-in-one is good for us, but I don't want to spend too much. Any recommendations? What's a good overall black and white, low volume laser printer, or a decent all in one with fax?
Thanks,
Caroline

Keep an eye out for the Brother offerings. Decent quality and features that won't break the bank.

Does it have to be laser?
My Brother JW835 is an inkjet, uses super cheap color inks.
Search the forum for 835...

Love my Brother MFC7860DW. It was $100 after rebate from Staples a few months ago. I think it was sold as a refurb, but it is indistinguishable from brand spanking new.
I will never buy another printer that isn't duplex and wireless and laser.
Inexpensive generic toner. Not all MFC printers have fax capability, so look carefully.
I do not find AirPrint capability to be important. I use a Mac app called Printopia which enables iOS devices to print to any shared printer on the network, and it's really slick.

Yep, me Brother MFC-7840W has been excellent! Has fax, and wifi spoils you! Got mine off Craigslist for $100 four years ago.
