Here's the weather outlook for the next week here in Sacramento. They say that the all time low is 17º in the 1930s, but I don't ever recall it getting as low as 22º. Better go out and cover my Jade plant...
Brrrrrrrrr!!

I'm a little West of Hal, but it has been Brrrrrrrrr here as well. I bought one of these for the boat yesterday:
![]() I bought one in Red at Target for $30. It's very small, very light, very quiet, and dare I say it- cute. It doesn't make those awful noises that ribbon heaters make, and it's not fragile as the old Quartz models. Also note the power rating: 375/750 watts. No blown breakers with this one. I checked it out, and in fact I'm using it right now. It won't heat a large room, but it doesn't have to, for my purposes. Tomorrow, I'm going to buy another one, and that one _will_ go on the boat. I guess it depends on where you define the 'official' temp for Sac. WeatherSpark uses Sac Executive and I found 21 F on 12-24-1998. There used to be a temp reading that was listed as on top of the Post Office at 9th and I St, but it has disappeared from the NOAA page. I remember that location hitting the mid-20's 2004 or 2005. All of downtown and midtown shut down for a couple of hours because of black ice.
