Last Week: Got in 3 upper body workouts and 2 sessions of elliptical workouts.

This week's goal: 3 upper body workouts and 2 leg workouts.

I can see some progress, that lost belt notch is within reach. I am trying to be a bit more disciplined at the dinner table by not having seconds all week. Instead I tried to fill myself with salad and fruit.

It is time for me to join the club. I recently had a couple of knees replaced and am still doing the physical therapy thing twice per week. The bad news is that my belt size has been creeping up in spite of increased activity.

The plan is to be more careful on the intake side and also to get in three upper body workouts and two sessions with my legs in addition to the PT.

My 4.2 mile daily bike rides have become mostly 6.2 mile with an occasional 8.2 mile foray.

My bike is however getting heavier lending to its difficulty ascending previously accomplished modest inclines .
I think I need new bike.

pRICE,

I'm still not getting to the gym as often as I ought to be but kicking my lo-carb diet into gear has resulted in a slow but steady reduction in weight. The dieting isn't because I was overweight per say but my weight had gone up a bit due to increased carb intake. The doctor told me to lose some weight. So, I'm losing some weight. We're not talking a weight loss like from a few years ago when I dropped 50+ lbs but just some weight, i.e. 15 to 20 lbs or so. The difference is already noticeable. The doctor and dietician are very pleased with the results so far. Wait until they see what happens when I hit the gym regularly! - lol!

I am between belt notches at the moment. I need to summon the willpower to make it all the way. According to the scale at my doctors office I am down about seven pounds. I am heavy enough that seven pounds is not noticeable so I am hoping to build on that. Good luck to everyone else moving to a new notch!

I'm at the point where I have extra notches in my belts and my pants are almost all about an inch too wide. I hadn't been thinking about losing weight requiring a new wardrobe.

Unfortunately, my wallet seems to be getting skinnier too. Sad

Well I rowed once and walked once since last Monday. This week I aim to do better. But yesterday I had a diner breakfast AND beer and pizza for dinner.

I've slacked over the past 3 weeks or so. I'm back on it today (90% chance!). Biking lately. I got a 17 or so loop. Maybe I'll get back to doing hills in a month or so.

Running three days a week and trying to walk twice a day on weekdays.

Friday morning, I drove out to the VA 10-Miler course and ran the first part of the course. I thought I was in pretty good shape, but I ended up walking up the last big hill. I was disappointed. I think my tolerance for running in clouds of auto/truck exhaust has gone way down since leaving Paris.

Fortunately, I will not have to share the course on race day (with cars & trucks at least)!

5 weeks to go!
