Back in the news — "Musk’s 'Hyperloop’ is feasible and should be nationwide"
#1
This looks like the future I envisioned as a kid.

SFGate

Hyperloop Transportation Technologies wants to build a national high-speed transportation network that would whisk travelers between cities in a series of enclosed tubes, with passengers riding in capsules at 760 miles per hour.

I love the idea of hyperloop...
Wouldn't mind a sacramento-reno-salt lake leg to connect into an east-west corridor though.
Probably too much to hope for to have the concord-portland run to go through here, since Hyperloop needs way more straight-lines than we have.

If you think getting through airport security is bad, wait till you see the inconvenience, restrictions, privacy invasions, and delays that the security for this system would need.

Apparently, they don't think New Englanders want to travel much. Not exactly "national" in scope.

I feel your pain as I used to live in Connecticut, Neophyte. I'm just glad they included Indy, with kids in NYC and Chicago.
