Anyone see the new Apple Watch TV ad?

Caught the 'uses for the watch' ad on TV. Nothing that would interest me, especially for the price. How about you?

I'm afraid that I am not savvy enough to say, from the very short clips in the ad.

Overall, I'm very intrigued with the watch.

My biggest reservation, so far, is battery life. I think that I could enjoy the device, but compared to other watches and my cell phone, I not sold that it would be more than a gimmick.

I would love to have one, based on the variety of possible uses, BUT...

...like other gadgets that I have fallen in love with, a major issue, like having it quit on me while I'm out and about, would wear thin, quickly.

I had no more battery issues after Day 1 as I was probably playing w it too much. Now that it's set up the way I want, battery lasts all day. And I still check it a lot.

Not going to get a watch, stopped wearing them years ago, but enjoy the discussions. It seems to me that the watch would be an ideal candidate for built in inductive charging. Take it off at bedtime and lay it on a charger on the bedside.

Anybody that gets one of these watches would enjoy it. I know this. It's just really pricy for a device when you consider that they'll be coming out with another relatively soon. But I bet these hold up for a good while. For years.

The way that Apple's watch uses apps makes me believe that there will be a standalone version. These watches are very cool toys.

I haven't followed the AppleWatch too closely since I'm not currently in the market for one.
I'm curious,,, is there "Maps" integration? Let's say i'm driving. Will the watch ping me and alert me to the next turn as I'm approaching? That would be pretty cool.

If a buzz on your wrist is a ping, then you'll like it.

Yep. Watch "Maps" guided tour here:

There are several stands out and coming out for the Apple Watch's inductive charging.

All I've seen are designed to use the Apple's magnetic induction connector. Just hang the Watch on the stand, the magnet orients it and starts charging. And most work with the bracelet.

I really like the idea of a stand over a mat for the smaller footprint.
