Rolling Stones tonight
#1
Just got back about 30 minutes ago from seeing Mick, Keith, and the rest of the boys. Wow, what a show! The last time I saw them was at the same venue (Bobby Dodd Stadium at GA Tech) 26 years ago for the Steel Wheels tour. They played a good, long set tonight. If you get a chance to see them during this tour, go! Our tickets were worth the $150 each.

This was also my 11yo son't first rock concert. Mine was Rick Springfield, so he's already got me beat for quality of firsts. His best line of the night was - "Dad, is he really 71? Wow! He looks like he's in his 40s. Well, no offense." Ouch!

Saw them at Altamont speedway and again at Pack Bell stadium, Altamont is most memorable!

Took my then 14-year old daughter to their 1980 something show at the LA Coliseum, tix were about $10-15 and included a lead in act called Prince - he was actually booed off the stage. There were more sneakers directed at him than people in the audience. Decidedly the wrong time and crowd for a guy prancing around in purple tights.

Glad to hear it was a good show. I was at that '89 Grant Field concert myself, and vividly remember telling my buddy, "These guys are way too old for this." Now I'm the age they were then.

My office is on campus at GT, I cleared out early yesterday. Heard traffic in Midtown was a complete nightmare starting at about 3PM.

Sounds like it was a great show.

They're not coming to Houston on their Zip Code tour, so no luck for me. Have never seen them and I doubt I ever will now.

They are very active on Twitter (more likely their marketing team). Their setlist from the show you attended was posted - looks like a great mix of songs.

Is that a serious question?

I was wondering if you were going to see them. They just played Dallas before Atlanta, but I did notice no Houston date.

It was a great show (and perfect first concert for my son), but I'm exhausted today, my ears are still ringing, and I'm a bit hoarse as well.

Will - we took MARTA down, which was very easy, even for getting back. Traffic looked to be bad from 3-6. We were walking across the North Avenue bridge around 7 and it was moving fine.
