Generating PDF from JPGs for photo book using Acrobat Pro
#1
Hi all- I am having an issue sizing photos as I prepare a PDF for online printing (using Lulu). My end goal is a PDF with document dimensions 6 x 9in. All of my images are in Photos and have been cropped with a ratio of 2:3. I have attempted to export the images with a height of 864px, and I have confirmed that the file does export to that size by checking the document info once it is on my desktop. The issue arises when I go to generate a PDF from these jpg files using Adobe Acrobat. For whatever reason the file size of a collection of the jpg images files is 8 x 12in. Because this is in the same ratio, just larger, my feeling is that there must be something about the resolution of the images that is as issue. I was not able to find a way to resize a document in Adobe Acrobat- is that possible? Should I batch re-size the jpgs using something other than the Photos export function? I am working with about 650 images, so any process would need to be automated.
Thanks so much for your help.

What version of the OS and Acrobat? How are you creating the file, are you starting Acrobat and then selecting convert/import? My first suggestion is to import the files and then Print To PDF with a custom page size (you need to take into account that there is a border that is about 1/2 inch around the "document").

Hi,

I am OS 10.10.5 and using Adobe Acrobat Pro DC. I am using the combine files into PDF function and the 6x9in files become an 8 by 12 in document every time. I attempted to crop the pages in Acrobat, but I can't seem to change the document size.

I haven't used the DC version. Do you have the option to Print-to-PDF with custom sizes?

I tried this using Acrobat DC and my pages are 2.78" x 2.78" same as the original images. The only difference is these images were done in Photoshop, so maybe resizing the images outside of Photos is the way to go.
