RIP. And - Wow! That is so unexpected, even at 79. I thought the Notorious RBG would be next.

I didn't know he was a musician.

Geez that's a shock, despite his age. So unexpected. At least I guess it was quick.

…good one, Speedy!

Speedy wrote: As did I. She looked the most feeble of the bunch. R.I.P. (even though I didn't think he was impartial, and I didn't care for the way he voted on various issues).

This brings up the whole nomination process - and the big problem - liberal President - conservative Senate - I predict total gridlock.
I've said for a while that justices should be nominated not on the basis of their leanings - conservative or liberal - but on the depth of their constitutional scholarship.

RIP to a character who i didn't like very much..Nonetheless, he was a compelling guy who was supposed to be sorta charming outside the court, Rest In Peace.
And, congrats to Obama on being to appoint another Supreme Court Judge...I'll bet the Conservatives are all peeing in their pants right about now..Should add some serious spice to this election process..Wow!

Umm no, Obama gets to NOMINATE a SCOTUS justice. The Senate will not even act on the nomination prior to next January.

While I did not share his ideological views, I still recognize the service he has given our nation as a Supreme Court Just for the last 29 years.
RIP your honor. |
