Intriguing new photo tech: Flatcam

Made of a fine grid directly on top of a sensor, so no lens. Camera obscure/pinhole for the 21st C.

Wow. So the "analog" function of lenses is being done digitally. So you could have a camera the size of an iphone with a sensor as big as the screen!

Is that how phased array systems work...let all the EM fall on it then digitally work it out?

Cameras today are good, but I think within another 5-7 (?) yrs we're going to see some very interesting new methods of image capture.
