What if it had been something else. It would really suck, but it would be gone. Do you have a receipt for it? You might try calling Apple if you do, or better, go to an Apple store with the receipt and see what they will do. You might just be out the bucks. I don't think anyone will just send you a copy, but maybe....

You know, this is the most inane post I've seen since...well, since a few days ago, when someone was whining about his wife throwing out $500 of AppleCare and demanding that Apple give it to him anyway even though it was a year ago and he has no real proof of anything.

Are people really THIS stupid? I mean, come on!

Come on, Jerry--what WILL you do? I'm sure people here will give you all sorts of creative ideas based on the concept that it couldn't possibly be your fault, that someone else--Apple, since it was their discs--must be responsible for MAKING YOU WHOLE in this matter.

I'm sure he's glad that you're here to call him an idiot and moreso, that he doesn't deserved help or sympathy in the matter.

Surely your bitchiness is pushing the populace to become more self reliant. You're a national treasure.

"Oh, what'll I DO?"

What did he EXPECT he should do?

I repeat: his was an INANE question.

Proof of purchase should be enough to cover your butt in the unlikely event of a software audit. After all, its a license and not a physical object.

Without Elmo's constant scolding, we'd all be unaware that we are slack and feckless. I, for one, am thankful that such a treasure is found in our midst.
