Sigma 50-100mm f/1.8 DC HSM Art lens for aps-c SLR
#1
Very interesting lens for the Nikon DX and Canon EF-s mounts. Nikon and Canon are ignoring the market for this kind of lens. Neither have really developed anything great for their aps-c offerings until after Sigma or Tamron capitalizes first.

the sigma art series has really been a winner for sigma.

sigma has been wise in making high quality lenses as an alternative to the efforts of canon-nikon-sony-pentax-panasonic-olympus.

in the past, sigma-tokina-tamron, were known as cheaper alternatives.

their art series has changed the equation.

ymmv

be well.

BUY!

I will be buying this lens. I have the 18-35 f/1.8 for APS-C and if new lens this performs anything like it's younger brother, I'll all in! Especially at that price.

Sigma's ART series has been optically performing better than Canon and Nikon offerings.

I do not own an ART series lens but I have Sigma's 85mm 1.4 and it is by far the sharpest lens I have ever used. It can keep up with the 36mp on my D800.

I will likely be buying at least 2 ART lenses in the next year.
