Ugh - tragedy/attack? just happened in Nice, France

A very large truck plowed into the crowd of Bastille Day revelers on the Avenue des Anglais - French news saying 12-30 people killed.

No details, just happened.

given that ISIS is encouraging the rogue use of automobiles as weapons it's hard to not consider any action these days being more than an accident.

Edit: an NPR report says a witness saw a driver emerge with guns and began shooting. what a freakin' world we live in.

Preliminary information from French officials is that there was one individual in the truck, according to a U.S. law enforcement official briefed on the attack. The individual, a male, was killed by police and it does not appear there was any gunfire from the truck, according to the official.

france 24 reporting that the ID found in the truck belonged to a 31 year old man with both French and Tunisian citizenship.

It's sad that these tragedies are seen by some folks as an opportunity to insult people whose opinions don't match theirs. It's like they break their necks running to the computer to make sarcastic right wing remarks.
