Does anybody have an Inductive Cooktop in your Kitchen?
Any pros or cons?
We are doing a complete kitchen remodel and are looking at this for our cooktop instead of standard electric or gas. She who does most of the cooking is opposed to having a gas cooktop.

cbelt,
I just assumed gas must have been an option based upon the OP. I think Chris thought the same.

My wife and I took a couple of cooking classes and all the heating elements were inductive. I was amazed; it was a pleasure to cook. Heats faster than gas, gets hotter, is more efficient and just a bit less precise in heat adjustment than gas. It is not your typical glass top or circular element cook top. I don't know if I'd go all out, but I'm definitely getting a single portable burner for our kitchen.

We were interested but in the end didn't go for it. IIRC, it heats up quicker than regular electric, and the cooktop stays cool(-er; it's warmed somewhat by being next to the pan it's heating).
You have to use pans that are made of a ferromagnetic material - you can tell by seeing if a magnet sticks to it. And I've heard folks say it tends to hum or "sing" a bit, but users say that it's not obnoxious, and you get used to it quickly.

If you are replacing gas with induction, you may have to get a 220V line (220,221 whatever it takes) run the location.
