Calling Paul - Power out for 8 hours, what to toss from the fridge
#1
Refrigerator thermostat was reading 60 F when power came back on. Most food packages were at about 50 F. Milk (un-opened), eggs (raw and hard cooked), yogurt, cheeses, open jar of mayo, un-opened hot dogs.

nothing, your fine.

I would be more concerned about the fridge loosing temp so fast. With no power and the doors closed you should be ok for 3 days, perhaps longer

Most of what you mentioned would be fine at room temp for a couple days... So,myeah, you're good.
Any chicken or fish, toss it...
And yes, your fridge sucks if it went up to 60 in just 8 hours...

Milk should be okay, but may have a shortened life. If you use up milk fairly quickly it should not be a problem, but if it fails the sniff test pour it out.

I would toss the hard cooked eggs even though they're probably OK. I would also toss lunch meat.

hard cooked eggs as in boiled eggs, still in shell? those should last a long time. If they were peeled, that is different.

I suspect someone opened the fridge door more than once. Tell them not to do that next time. Also, you need a better diet.
