Alabama's Court of the Judiciary has suspended Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore for the rest of his term

Way to go Alabama! Now the feds won't have to do it - that could have been really messy. Maybe another George Wallace moment thwarted...

"But the nine-member court also noted that the decision is based on a review of Moore's behavior and decisions, not on the justices' views of the Supreme Court's June 2015 ruling that same-sex couples have the right to marry — contrary to Alabama's law, adopted in 2016, that had reserved marriage for heterosexual couples only."

I believe that , Alabama's law still stands ?

No - you misunderstand, the next paragraph:

"Saying that "some members of this court did not personally agree with" the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling, the judges wrote, "This court simply does not have the authority to reexamine those issues.""

THIS COURT (Alabama Sup) doesn't have the authority to re-examine a US Supreme decision.

I wonder why is it so difficult for some people to evolve from what they were (most likely) taught at a young age? It seems like most people that I know have seen the light on this issue.

Well, let's see if he gets elected again to the Alabama Supreme Court. This is the second time he has been removed, though this time it is not a complete removal but suspension without pay for the rest of his term.

He's banned from running again - he's toast.

His name is already amongst the top choices for either Governor or Attorney General in 2018.
