Trump is unelectable. So what's truly next for the GOP?

He's about to become a pariah. All of the women that he's accosted will come out and start one after another lawsuit. The GOP knows that even were Trump to win, they'd lose - Trump would spend his ENTIRE presidency in federal court defending himself from case after case.

Once Ryan realizes his 'Cosby Moment', he's going to spend time rebuilding.

What I want to know is who's clean?

Cruz? Nope.

Romney? I honestly think he's going to let the ship go down before bailing.

I cannot think of a SINGLE Senator that's got the gumption to call this what it is, a Titanic event.

Maybe Senator Lee

(Posted this in an earlier thread, but it may fit here better)

I wonder if a withdrawal from the ticket would actually bolster Pence's standing for a future run? Normally quitting would doom him, but this election is anything but normal. By disassociating himself with Trump, he would be able to say he placed decency and standards higher than politics (BS I know, but this election also shows that voters are not deep thinkers).

The October surprise may just be the GOP en masse sabotaging the GOP Nominee. It would be an interesting strategy that might pay off down ticket and in future elections (then again it may not, essentially a huge dice roll).

Do you really think Trump will withdraw? That if he did anyone could step in at 30 days and have a chance against HRC? Who would even want to do that? It's a doomed cause. Pence is in the worse position. What happens if he backs out? His career is doomed if he doesn't.

Trump's scripted apology was very wooden. You know he can't stick to scripts. What will he say once he's off leash. Should be fun.

He's been a pariah all along. Nobody of any intellect actually likes the man.

It hasn't stopped the GOP from supporting him when it appeared that he had the popular vote.

Now they're stuck with him.

This is not over.

Trump had to have the spotlight-taller buildings, name on everything, prettiest wives, etc etc. Now he had crashed at the highest level he could ever have. Leader of the Free world, nominee for Prez of the USA. He could not have picked a higher pinnacle to fall from.

Kellyanne has a best seller in her future.

This is over. 1 MILLION + women have answered a single twitter thread about posting their first sexual assault experience.

I will be out of touch when Clinton is handed the wooden stake - she needs to slay this horrific monster we've made once and for all on Sunday.

Trump won't debate on Sunday is my guess.

I'm not sure about that.

A candidate that even appears sane would draw many of the GOP voters that were either going to vote for someone else, or not vote at all. There would be little time for that candidate to be vetted, their positions could be vague, and everyone would say that's okay. If they wait until after the Sunday debate, then the only one left is moderated by Fox News Sunday host Chris Wallace - that is a dream moderator for the GOP. Additionally, it would be a fresh face and that always draws in the bandwagon.

Pence scored points in the VP debate. That could be the spring board to a Pence/Ryan ticket or Pence/(Kasich, Bush, Romney) - or perhaps Romney/Pence. The other half of the ticket cannot be a Senator - the GOP can't afford to risk a senate seat (so no Rubio, or Cruz)

With Hillary being unpopular in general, a major party supported candidate popping in with 21-30 days could be seen as the white knight. That could be enough to put them over the top.

Samintex - you've been perplexed in this election. It is no secret that you have chosen not to vote for Trump. Would a viable white knight as outlined above influence you to vote GOP? How do you think it might affect others like you?
