Yep - that Fox News bombshell was *total* BS

ABC News sources, however, indicated those statements -- and the Fox News reports they’re based on -- are inaccurate and without merit.

WHAT a surprise.
:RollingEyesSmiley5:

The sources acknowledged that the FBI began looking into the Clinton Foundation after the controversial book “Clinton Cash” was published last year.

Now that's a great impetus for an FBI investigation. Word I hear is next they'll be looking into this "Protocols of the Elders of Zion" bombshell.

In February, FBI agents presented their findings to senior FBI officials and prosecutors in the Justice Department's Public Integrity Section, sources said. But the prosecutors and senior FBI officials agreed there was no clear evidence of wrongdoing, and that a criminal case tied to the Clinton Foundation could not be made, according to the sources.

"It was not impressive," one source said of the February presentation. "It was not something that [prosecutors] felt they could authorize additional steps for. They were not impressed with the presentation or the evidence -- if you could even call it evidence to that point."

Investigators and higher-ups have continued to discuss the matter, but there has been no change in posture, sources said. Authorities still believe there is no evidence of wrongdoing, and they do not believe there is a sufficient reason to pursue charges, according to the sources.

"If you could even call it evidence". Heh. Perhaps "Bull excrement" would be a better, more accurate term.

Who cares if it is BS, 40,000,000 Trump supporters believe it is true. And more than a few of them think she should get the electric chair.

NBC News chimes in, rather succinctly:

Trump Claims Clinton Indictment Is Near. It's Not.

Trump claimed rival Clinton is "likely" to be indicted over an FBI inquiry that senior law enforcement officials tell NBC News' Pete Williams never made it past the initial stage.

Based on a Fox News report entirely drawn from anonymous sources, Trump told a Florida crowd Thursday that "the FBI is conducting a criminal investigation into Hillary Clinton's pay-for-play corruption during her tenure as secretary of state."

"In other words," he continued, "the FBI is investigating how Hillary Clinton put the office of Secretary of State up for sale in violation of federal law."

...An FBI inquiry never progressed past the preliminary stage and has not moved forward in months.

Egg on Fox News face?

More like an omelet.

With headlines today like "Has the FBI Gone Full Breitbart?", I've gotta believe that Comey gave wide permission for his folks to knock this down, and hard. The last week is making him look like he's totally out of control of his own agency...and I'm not sure that appearance is incorrect.

He needs to have a come-to-Jesus moment with his staff, followed by a thorough housecleaning of anyone who's not fully on board with precedent and standard practice...and he needs to do it soon.

...and by the way, the right wing noise machine would never let accuracy get in the way of a good story:

From Google headlines:

Amid Stunning New FBI Revelations, Judge Jeanine Just Drove The Final Nail In Hillary's Coffin
"Western Journalism"

"Judge Jeanie?" Is that like Judge Judy?

A Massive Bombshell Was Dropped in FBI's Clinton Case Last Night. Network Coverage is 'Beyond the Pale'
"Independent Journal Review"

Well, yeah, the initial story (and these subsequent reverberations in the cavernous right wing echo chamber (or RWEC)) are certainly "beyond the pale", for a totally BS story...

"RushLimbaugh.com"

Starting to get the picture?

FBI Needs to Investigate Why the FBI Is Suddenly So Leaky

Uh, wait - that's not from the RWEC - that is the question that the real press is starting to ask...

The FBI is also investigating their own Twitter account.

That doesn't bother me. I (sadly) have to accept that Trump supporters will believe anything Trump, Rush or Hannity says, regardless of facts.

What bothers me is there are more than a few who are not necessarily Trump supporters who are buying into the never ending Hillary scandal B.S. that the GOP has been manufacturing for years. The problem is those people don't like Trump but think they can't vote for Clinton because of all the crap that has been (and still is being) spewed.

This drives me nuts. It's no more intelligent than thinking that Winstons taste good like a cigarette should, just because you've heard it a million times.
