Museum removes every piece of art created by immigrants
#1
CNN

...lasting through President's Day weekend, all work created or donated by immigrants will no longer be displayed The Davis Museum at Wellesley College in Massachusetts.

Instead, curators will drape black cloth over cases, and line the walls with labels that say "Created by an immigrant."

Wow, I think that's a pretty powerful statement.

I love that immigrants took a day off and shut down restaurants and much work in the USA.Confusedmiley-gen013:

It won't affect Trumpsters, they've never before nor in the future ever will step foot in this sort of institution, a fact they're proud of and, if asked, will boast about. Now if Disneyland were to start cloaking exhibits...

True. But they do eat in restaurants and were possibly inconvenienced when the 'illegals' took one day off to protest. Wait until they are all deported.

Symbolically, I like this better than shutting down restaurants. Immigrants are not just dishwashers and cooks, they're the very fiber and soul of our society.

A woman in one of the restaurants where I live was fired for not coming to work yesterday. I hope that was a rarity.

MoMA responds to Trump’s immigration ban through its collection
The museum installs works by artists from Muslim nations in its permanent galleries

http://theartnewspaper.com/news/museums/...ollection/

The art world has been a leading force in addressing contested issues of the Trump administration, from Shepard Fairey‘s “We the People” poster series to a rehang featuring work by artists from the countries named in the travel ban at New York’s Museum of Modern Art. In addition, the Museum of the City of New York has staged an new photography exhibition titled “Muslim in New York.”

There’s also been smaller, more grassroots efforts like Dear Ivanka, an effort to appeal to First Daughter Ivanka Trump led by art world professionals.

The Davis is encouraging other museums to follow its lead, and has wall labels, a pro-bono project from the Boston design firm Stoltze Design, reading “made by an immigrant” or “given by an immigrant” available for download on its website.

Good for firing up the college kiddies. It's okay, that's the way it's done. (Sorta like the other side throwing a pig head at a mosque.)
