After 5 years our beloved Fellows shredder went to meet its keeper. We did not use it daily; when we did we shredded between 50-100 pages of docs at one time. We searched for a couple under $100. One is Fellows and the other is Aurora. Which brand is best for the $70 price?

C'mon, you gotta know someone that can get you in...
Also, if you keep the blades lubed, the shredder will last a long, long time if used within its stated operating parameters. We usually take the big boxloads of stuff to a shredding company, but for the small loads, the heavy duty, sub $100 Costco units have done very well... except for the one Baby Buzz burned up a few years ago when he didn't wait long enough in between batches of a job that was knowingly too much to try to power thru all at once. Kids.

I'll look up a couple of old friends who might still have membership. Just checked CostCo website, the micro cut ones are on the expensive side. Would cross cut do the job of shredding personal docs?

I've decided my next shredder will take it all, staples, objects fastened to paper, just chew it all up. I've already spent more on cheap shredders than I'd have spent if I had first bought a $3-400 machine. Dagnabbedit.

For Costco - if you buy a Costco gift card - no need for a membership

Do people really have that much shredding?
We have pretty much eliminated all paper billing from everywhere... not sure what get to even shred?
And shredding is to safegard against...? some person stealing your garbage at night? or going thru the dump?
