"If You Haven’t Slept Well Since November"
#1
This week I think I finally felt the weight of the past few months; all the protests and pushing back, of opposing travel bans and healthcare bills and racists marches; of the family arguments and social media battles and church conflicts.

I think my body and my heart finally said, “Enough”—and I ‘m pretty sure I’m not alone. And rather than giving you some seemingly buoyant, inspiring, “rah-rah” message with you, or implore you to do more, speak louder, fight harder, I wanted to share this one with you:

It’s okay to be exhausted.

I find that hiking into the mountains with everything I need to be comfortable and getting to a place with no cell signal for a few days helps A LOT.

I can't stand hiking and camping but I totally see how that would be a blessing.

Yep. Training days are like that for me. No time to look at a cell, and sometimes no reception. Just nature and the doggies.

I take refuge in the arts. For instance, tee shirts with "The Jews Will Replace You" and matching Yerzheit tiki torch are selling well in my neighborhood.

Yes, it is understandable that people get emotionally exhausted. Still, we have to maintain the outrage and continue to resist. Every time the senators try to overturn the ACA, it is another sap on one's strength. Millions of people are depending on the continuation of the fight. That doesn't mean we aren't exhausted, disgusted, weary, and afraid. Perhaps this is the purpose for having all those thousands of chapters of Indivisible.

The exhaustion part may well be part of the strategy. Once people stop caring, anything can be done. And will…
