Laughing @ Myself - Too Many Remotes!!
#1
{guess this qualifies as a 1st World Rant}
Re-did my A/V setup to accommodate the new 'LG 49'.
  1. TV
  2. Pany BD
  3. Yamaha A/V 5.1 recvr (old but sounds great).
  4. Apple TV
  5. ROKU (not really needed with the LG)
All neatly wired, cables tied w/ velcro wrap. Everything functioning
properly until I get to the Panasonic BluRay. D@mn remote not working
    correctly, WTF??
Oh wait, that's the remote for the old TV (labeled "Panasonic"). Go in drawer, there it is clearly marked "Panasonic DVD". Doesn't work! Look closely at buttons and wonder "what's with the 'RECORD' & 'INPUT' buttons"?
Crap, that's the remote for the old DVD recorder (remember those?).
Back to the drawer, another Pany remote! This one's marked "Panasonic BD".
    doh!!! It works.

Sometimes it helps to just laugh at yourself!

Panny TV
Panny BlueRay
Tivo
AppleTV
Roku
Sony Surround
Christmas Tree Outlet

and I just got an ATT DirectTV that I didn't even hooked up yet but it looks really well designed (and remote looks good too)

I forgot the Pioneer speaker we just moved upstairs.

And the 2-3 cordless phones always on the coffe table, side table, couch... and the 4 cell phones, iPads, laptops. Mice, keyboards, headphones. it's a freaking mess.

I use a Harmony universal remote that does all the power-up & input switching.

Then it's just the Apple TV remote (still use the Harmony for volume, but I don't adjust that much).

Just a little painful remembering my account password when I need to re-program the Harmony to add a component, since it happens so rarely.

I still use my Dell Mini-9 (remember those?) to do the reprogramming since the Harmony stuff never seemed to work with any OS past something like Leopard.

Upgrade the MyHarmony app. It works for me on Mojave.
