Return policy at Christmas on an Apple Watch

So I picked up that Gray with Black Sport Band, Gen 3 with GPS at Walmart for the $229.

Funny the one in my Amazon List is now $229, after originally being $279.00

What worries me is the return policy and any follow up on the Apple Watch if needed.

Walmart employee said 14 days.

What is the best return policy, Doesn't Apple Store have like 30, 60 or 90 day return, but their prices would be higher.

I also don't like being tied to a Walmart purchase.

I could return the one from Walmart if they do only have a 14 day policy, and try to go for a longer return period somewhere else... Price match Best Buy with Amazon, or go with Amazon..

Most large retail outlets such as Walmart have a special return policy in effect during the holiday season. Check Walmart's website to see if you can find the info you're looking for there. Also check your purchase receipt -- quite often the holiday return policy will be stated there.

If you don't like being tied to a Walmart purchase and if you can purchase from Amazon for the same price, why not do that? IIRC, Amazon purchases during the holiday season can be returned anytime until the end of January or so -- again, their website will have details on that.

Amazon is 30 days but there might be a restocking fee.


You're worried the recipient might want a different color/size / changed their mind ?

Best Buy's return policy seems to be tied to your "Elite"-ness level. I.e. the more you spend in a year, the longer you get to return things. I think the default is 15 days as well.

According to that site, return deadline for the smartwatch would be Jan 10, 2019.

Apple's normal 14-day return policy is modified during the holidays. Any purchases made between Nov. 14 and Dec. 25, 2018 may be returned up to Jan 8, 2019.
