Wife's SE battery is on its last legs. She loves the phone, but it will go from 100% to 10% in her pocket within 15 minutes. No local Apple store for the $49 battery replacement, and I don't fancy a DIY battery replacement. Not sure that the local repair shops batteries are worth investing in (at about $40 for the replacement), given past experience with non-Apple batteries. I guess going the local battery replacement route is still an option, but I don't expect the $40 to give us more than a few months of usable battery life, 3rd party battery quality being what it is.
So, I'm at least halfway considering just getting her a different phone. She loves the SE size/form factor.
Should I just bite the bullet and pick up a really nice X (seems closest to SE size, though screen size is far larger) and be done? Or something else? I hesitate to try and find another SE because they are now "out of print" and getting one with a guaranteed newer battery is going to be tough. We aren't really "phone people", but having something reliable is important.
We use Xfinity Mobile for our carrier (Verizon network), and don't want to change to chase a promo.
Thoughts?
