Nothing new

I haven’t been here is a while and thought I would stop in to see what was new. Nothing new. Same old hate and bitterness over President Trump.

Well, continue on.

...as opposed to the hearts and flowers the right lavished over Obama?

(Welcome back swampy - good to see you’re still alive and kickin!)

What has the President, or anybody in his administration, done that might reduce the hate and bitterness since your last visit?

I have the White House tennis court reserved for next Tuesday. Looking for a doubles partner. Are you available?

(Be sure to wear your whites)

Swampy ! Welcome back ! I hope you are well.

Each community / tribe has its own flavor and tends to become and echo chamber to some extent. But feel free to participate “politely”.

As one of the previous “Conservatives “ on the phorum the downfall of my old Republican Party has been their out of control careening into hatred and fiscal irresponsibility, and their complete and utter disregard of any citizen that is not a multi millionaire or billionaire. They lost my support completely.

As a now fully politically independent person I feel it is every citizens sacred duty to refresh American Democracy with truth, and vote with a full measure of self interest. This is my rubric from top to bottom.

How will the candidates ideas and policies affect me?
How will they affect my family ?
How will they affect my friends ?
How will they affect my community ?
How will they affect society ?
How will they affect the world ?

Set aside your “Party” Affiliation and truthfully take your own measures. And then vote accordingly.

Well put.

This requires at least a modicum of critical thinking skills, as well as the capacity for empathy.

Drop in more often Swampy, just last week someone was asking about you, wondering if you were OK.

I have thought many times about you, Swampy, and wondered if any errors in judgement or Tweet has changed your thinking in any way. When policies change my support of a political party has to change, too. Tx doesn’t support my current party Independent but I will to follow a party that supports my views (which I feel are reasonable). Hope your health is good and on the upswing....watch those stairs!

The inability of the two sides to recognize that we are all in this together is one of the saddest part of modern US politics.

However, it's important to note that is largely a one-way scenario with one side actively pushing the other away (like the OP).
