Ex in-law may open a country restaurant. What food would be good for me to buy from her supplier?

It's my brother's ex-wife and they are on decent terms. I'm sure she would be OK with me buying some stuff. I had in mind chicken fried steaks. What else would be good to buy? There's lots of restaurant foods that are way better than I can cook from scratch.

Maybe enchiladas and salsa. Gravy, of course. Catfish and breading.

I cannot imagine trying to open a restaurant now amidst current health concerns.

Good point. But it's in rural Arkansas which hasn't been hit too badly.

and wouldn't admit it if they were.

I would check prices on all meats, prepared side dishes like mac & cheese, and desserts

Ranch dressing. It seems better in restaurants. Maybe slaw. Cheese dip. Tortilla chips.

this depends on what they offer and what you like to eat. It's too general of a question to expect a reasonable response from me.

This is prepared food, not raw ingredients?

lasagna, chicken pot pie, stews, soups, roasts, pies. All subject to testing to see if these are good examples- there's good restaurant food and lousy restaurant food...

Unless you want to do a niche thing, restaurant menus are almost always dictated by local eating habits. I'd start by avoiding things like lobster bisque or borsch soup.

Betcha DinerDave could help.
