When he wrenched the taser from one of them, that seemed to surprise them or scare them enough that they rolled off of him, allowing him to run. What they should have done: When he started to struggle when they grabbed his arms to cuff him, they should have stepped back and given him a moment to calm down. Instead, they immediately tried to subdue him forcefully. Cops need to be trained to de-escalate to the point where they do it reflexively. Attacking like a brute when someone reacts in fear is not the way to police a civilized nation.

why 2 policemen cant restrain one man
An obvious question and yes Sarcony's correct. When you rely on a tool, it's not fully "you" that did the restraining. What's interesting here is that the "guns don't kill people" crowd will tend to shift the action not to the trigger puller in this case but to the victim. Anything to defend the usage of a deadly tool that somehow never is the cause of anything deadly. It's magic!

He came up behind me and grabbed my shoulder before identifying himself. I shrugged it off and turned around. That earned my punch in the chops. I got up and told him "My granny hits me harder than that!!" Turns out my granny never had a night stick. But angry and adrenalized, I kept getting up, instead of taking my beating like a b*tch. That earned me a resisting arrest charge.

The bodycam footage has been the most informative I’ve seen.
Here are a couple of clips for quick reference. Showing the first moments of the struggle. ![]() The moment when he breaks free of their control. ![]()

Field test, failed breathalyzer; attempted to handcuff; unprovoked, violent resisting of arrest, seizes weapon from officer, flees, uses weapon against officer, victim of lethal force. Trying to frame every instance as a tragedy of monumental injustice ultimately does the cause of justice no service. |
