I'm afraid I'm going to have to turn on my furnace in early September. What is going on? :eek2:

Yes, we had some rain here, too. Over 2 inches actually last night and today!

It was supposed to be a beautiful 72º today on the CA northcoast but instead we got smoke from a growing fire east of here. I took some photos at 4PM and my flash went off, it was so dark. The light was so dark and brown — very surreal.

We did turn on our furnace today. The high was 52°. The prediction is for frost this coming morning. There will be a hard freeze in the northern part of the state which should wipe out the mosquitoes. Our local brood will be safe from the frost in the tall grass near our pond outback.
